We had to use color for darks and lights. Interesting and a greater challenge.

Drawings: Outdoor Observations

Our last day of class was spent doing observational drawings outside. We needed to include foreground, middle ground and background. I used powdered charcoal and vine charcoal.

Bull Skull Charcoal Sketch

When I was a kid we visited my Mother's relatives in North Dakota. They raised cattle and I found this old bull skull and was dragging it around and I was allowed to keep it. It was hung over my bed for years as a child with my western style room decor. Now it hangs above my desk. I'm taking a drawing class right now and decided to to a practice charcoal sketch.
